Today your General Secretary met Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance, Shri Santosh Gangwar ji in New Delhi along with our Delhi Unit Office bearers. The talks were held in the morning at his residence and then he once again invited us at his Finance Ministry’s Office for detail discussion.
We expressed concern over the inordinate delay on 5 day Week and insisted that the same be approved at the earliest and said that LIC cannot stand isolated when all the Institutions under general Insurance have the privilege of 5 days week. The Delegation also pointed that new Wage Revision is due from 1st August 2017 and 5 Day Week benefit offer was part of the previous charter. Hon’able Minister assured to look into the matter.
On one more option for Pension, the Minister acknowledged the long standing demand by LIC & Associations. However, he remained non committal.
On clearance of Bonus to eligible employees for F.Y. 2014-15 & 2015-16, he assured to look in to the matter as to why clearance has not been done.
On Wage Revision, the Delegation impressed upon the Ministry for giving necessary directions to LIC Management for beginning wage negotiations at the earliest. Hon’ble Minister acknowledged the point.
Delegation also took up the issue of unfriendly Sports Policy in LIC. Hon’ble Minister asked for a detail letter in this regard.
All India Life Delegation also pleaded for exemption of GST on Life Insurance Premium.
